This policy also provides a planned response to a flu pandemic with clearly described roles and responsibilities across the Company, such that in the event of a serious outbreak, the Company can coordinate and manage a safe and effective response to the demands such an incident will have on staff and visitors whilst protecting and maintaining core services.

COVID-19 (Coronavirus) Guidance to Care Home
A UK Government Issue
The government has issued guidance to care homes on how to prevent the spread of coronavirus, COVID-19, saying facemasks do not need to be worn in residential settings.
The Department of Health has said care workers do not need to wear facemasks, stating they 'only need to be worn by infected individuals when advised by a healthcare worker, to reduce the risk of transmitting the infection to other people'.
The guidance adds that it ‘remains very unlikely that people receiving care in a care home or the community will become infected’.
Public Health England (PHE) recommends that the best way to reduce any risk of infection for anyone is good hygiene and avoiding direct or close contact (within 2 metres) with any potentially infected person.
